Autumn in Antwerp

Every season has its charisma however the grace of Autumn somehow leaves us amazement. During autumn floras glimpses cheerful as they elude the foliage of summers and accept the shades of fire – yellows, reds, browns and burnt oranges. So in this October let us treat ourselves with exceptionally startlingly fall foliage in this universe.

Making your journey to Antwerp in Autumn an unforgettable voyage. All you can do here is to submerge yourself in the varied colours of nature and find out peace for yourself. Leaving all the hustle and bustle behind you can enjoy the music of rustling leaves and that autumn smell. Nachtegalen Park is the most beautiful park in Belgium. However, it’s beauty rises to sky seven during Autumn. The Nachtegalen Park, a few min drive from Antwerp, is a gorgeous, large, green spot: many different kinds of plants make it a great destination for every season. While in fall you see a different colour palate here. As if nature is ready to paint a different scenic beauty. Well, make sure to visit it with a large backpack for collecting the many delicious chestnuts. This natural landscape is considered to be very peaceful fit your romantic strolls. It has an open-air museum and a small animal park. It also has a playground for kids with a lovely café right next to it De Melkerij where you can have your drink. Immerse yourself in the green, in the heart of the park, all surrounded by sand and leaves. A perfect spot for families.

Park Den Brandt is positioned just a few km from Antwerp. This Park is a must-visit in all the Seasons however autumn makes it marvellous. It is a  quieter park along with large paths, a castle, a lovely pond with ducks and swans and many bridges everywhere. Dating back to 1911 and has a very romantic atmosphere.

The only place that hosts functions is the castle in the middle of the park.

You will find a replica of the statue of David in the park. You will be surprised to find a bunker museum. Unfortunately, it is temporarily closed due to the pandemic. Right next to the chapel there is a picking garden, which has fruits and aromatic herbs. It’s a perfect place to sit under the tree during the fall and munch your snacks. Park Den Brandt is a lovely, peaceful park, just a short walk from the Nachtegalen park.

Fort 5, in Edegem a few km from Antwerp is much more than a park.

It is very vast and it will allow you to walk and get lost among its trees. A place for all the seasons especially for autumn. It is a perfect combination of natural beauty with a touch of history. It was a military domain which played a key role during world war I and II. It is a natural reservoir for numerous types of animals, particularly for bats. Fort 5 has a wonderful playground for children too, a pond full of ducks and birds and many amazing bars. It is a truly remarkable spot, for walking, biking, playing and meditating. A perfect place for your autumn in Antwerp.

River Scheldt reveals varied colours during autumn. If you have visited this river priorly then you should undoubtedly visit it again during fall as you will surely experience something new and incredible. Antwerp is Europe’s one of the largest seaports.  To enjoy this place at fullest you can have a  boat ride or you can just stand on the river bank and admire the beauty of nature accompanied by the cool breeze and rhythmic sounds of rustling leaves. Here, you will be lost in the serenity of nature. A perfect place to find peace.

Water bodies have different beauty during the fall. Where you can see the reflection of the trees in shimmering water making it an aesthetic view. The breeze rustles leaves creating the rhythmic music.

The Havenroute is an approximately 50-kilometre-long sightseeing tour of the port area.  The tour heads past the 17th-century. At Lillo, there is a choice between driving on to inspect the huge Berendrechtsluis, the world’s largest lock, or shortening the tour by turning round and following the Havenroute south again towards Antwerp, via the Frans Tijsmanstunnel beneath the Kanaaldok. Antwerp’s fall makes this place more beautiful.
