Château du Faing

Château du Faing is a magnificent castle, standing proudly in Chiny Belgium. The Château du Faing dates from the previous century and presently belongs to the National Heritage of Belgium. It survives on the “muddy” grounds where the Castle was erected. It was constructed on the model of the forenamed Château, which is renovated. The first Château was the residence of the “du Faing”, lords of Jamoigne. It was in the 15th century, under the independence of the Dukes of Burgundy that the “Du Faing” ascertained their attention. Its marked path starting in Chiny will get you to this viewpoint.

The Chiny ski

The Chiny ski runs, which go through woodlands, far away from the crowd, are obvious to fascinate nature enthusiasts. In Chiny, you will feel at one with nature. Barrage de la Vierre

The lake and the Vierre dam are discovered near the village of Suxy, in the Gaume. In the heart of the Chiny forest, in the province of Luxembourg, Lake Vierre also called the “Suxy dam”, is an enormous wilderness that is certainly worth a detour. A 25 hectares have been put underwater for this artificial lake, the penstock of which connects the Vierre, barred at Suxy, to a power station producing electricity on the banks of the Semois, below, at Chiny. The dam itself is a concrete structure 134 meters long with a maximum height of 12 meters. It is possible to fish there: especially carp, but also trout, pike, tench, roach and perch. Fishing and walking cards for the Vierre dam can be obtained from the Chiny Tourist Office. The Vierra flows naturally into the Semois at Les Bulles.
