Step back in time to the largest female abbey in Hasselt. The Herkenrode Abbey has been the monastery of Cistercian nuns since 1927. For decades this abbey had seen many ups and downs, but after almost a century, the building still stands strong and is surrounded by beautiful nature reserves.
