Le Tombeau du Géant:

Le Tombeau du Géant is a 2.6 kilometer out and back trail located near Bouillon, Luxembourg, Belgium that features a river and is good for all skill levels. It is also a historic site traversed by a path once taken by the Germans. On the left, the slope facing us is called Bichetour, one of the seven “forests of Ardenne” which belonged to the Ardenne-Verdun family, the ancestors of Godefroid de Bouillon. It has a fantastic landscape, beautiful nature and views and lovely little paths all over the place. A top place for long and short hikes, it is undoubtedly one of the best known and photographed in Belgium with this superb loop of a wild Semois.

The Hérou

Hérou is a place with extraordinary landscapes! The site of the Hérou is a 150 kilometer-rocky outcrop that bars the Ourthe’s way and has been classed in 1937, and it offers a wild landscape, assortment of hilltops with a great hillside covered with clusters of trees, firs, and rock scarps. Hérou is classified as a “Major Heritage of Wallonia”. The route you have planned to walk goes across the rocks of Le Hérou and along the riverside of the Ourthe and back again through the forest towards Nadrin. Nadrin is a small village in the province of Houffalize, about 10 km from La Roche-en-Ardenne. Here you have a big choice of hiking, highlight on the Celtic wall reconstruction at Le Cheslé, gorgeous views of the valley. In the valley, you can see the Ourthe wriggling on itself in several meanders. You can walk the routes via ropes and chains. Not a route for people who have difficulty walking or are afraid of heights. You can also enjoy the water in many places along the river. It has a snack bar in the parking with a good selection of local beers.

Falize-Felsen

Rocher De Falize, 4960 Malmedy

The province of Liège is packed with stunning views allowing you to admire the landscape’s skyline for several miles. From “Le Rocher de Falize”, the view over the Warche valley is truly splendid. Around 70 m high and 50 m wide. In Falize, a huge boulder made of quartzite attracts everyone’s attention. At the summit of the hill dominating the left bank of River Warche, the rock overlooks the valley with a sheer drop. It is particularly hard and was able to withstand the force of the erosion and the water with which the Warche dug its way into the valley. A short hike to the “Rocher de Falize” is also worthwhile because of the great panorama. Nice place for some peace, but be careful when you go down the road slope. It is very sharp and you should wear hiking shoes and take walking sticks. You can go down into the forest which will lead you to a riverbank, but it’s quite remote. Yet you can have a nice experience.

Le Cheslé de Bérismenil

Le Cheslé de Bérismenil, 6982 La Roche-en-Ardenne

Le Cheslé de Bérismenil has a pleasant walk with cool climbing and descending through rocks. Not at all the impression of being in Belgium. Here was once a fortified Celtic settlement, which was surrounded by a double wall made of earth, slate and wood and stretched over a length of around 1,750 meters. These are dry stone walls with elevations made of wattle. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. The starting point of the Tour is accessible with public transport. Unobstructed views of the mountains, impressive height differences and steep slopes are just perfect for your summer walks. A few people are so successful in immersing themselves in nature. Pay attention to certain routes, sometimes impractical due to the vegetation. You can have a gala time in this beautiful landscape.
