Monument Cozier J 1914
Monument Cozier J 1914 is located just opposite the “Orée de la Forêt” cemetery and is slightly set back from the road. This monument is devoted to the inhabitants of Tintigny, who withstood during the First World War. It contains the names of 46 civilians executed by the Germans in August 1914; 3 soldiers succumbed for the Fatherland; of 4 deportees and 2 resisters executed (the Collard brothers). The verdict to erect a memorial dates back to 1919, but it was not until the early 1930s that the monument was constructed. It is the work of the Brussels sculptor Jean Canneel and the architect of Arlon, Lamy.
After 1945 a commemorative plaque dedicated to the Hunters of the Ardennes was added to the monument. The starting point for walks in the woods and on the battlefield. This monument is the pride for the civilians of the Tintigny. A place must visit with a rose to tribute the bravery.
