There are 5 EuroVelo routes which cross this wonderful country: routes 3, 4, 5, 12 and 19, adding up to a total of 1140km. In Wallonia, routes 3, 5 and 19 follow the RAVeL networks for the most part. The provision of cycle paths very much depends on which region of Belgium you are in. Flanders is a bike lover’s dream with hundreds of well signposted cycling routes. While there are ‘easy’ routes suitable for beginners and families there are also longer ones. Cycling through waters a bridge across one of the lakes dotting the Wijers region of Limburg. The French speaking regions of southern Belgium we found that the cycle paths were not as well implemented and in some case non existent in town.
