Pairi Daiza

The most promising zoo in Belgium is Pairi Daiza. Pairi Daiza houses more than 7,000 animals from around the world, comprising birds, mammals, fish and reptiles. It is tracked down on the obsolete site of the Cistercian abbey of Cambron which promotes ancient trees and innumerable historic buildings. Antwerp Zoo

The Zoo’s beautiful buildings and garden have been listed as monuments and when it was built in 1843, more than 150 years ago it was just outside of the city’s walls. A must-see zoo.

Planckendael

Planckendael is a zoo, encountered on the grounds of Planckendael castle in the village district of Muizen, in Mechelen, Belgium. Planckendael is so much more than just a zoo. You can admire exotic animals, koalas are supposed to be the cutest animal in the Planckendael. It is not like a regular zoo but an incredible animal park where you can easily encounter the baby animals and have a closer view of them. It houses more than 7000 animals and more than 950 species. The park is divided into five sections namely Asia, Europe, Oceania, America and Africa. You can also take an adventurous trip overhanging bridges, or stroll beneath the treetops in this 40-hectare domain. There is loads of space for playing children, playing with animals and meandering visitors. A place for animal lovers.

De Zonnegloed

Situated right in the middle of the triangle between Ostend, Dunkirk and Lille, De Zonnegloed encloses approximately 17 acres of Flemish countryside housing more than 350 wild rescue animals. The De Zonnegloed is home to many animals, each with their numerous personalities and complexions. From the smallest pygmy marmoset and leopard gecko, the slightly larger meerkat and desert fox to the steppe zebra and giant brown bear. You get the chance to get to know animals that you don’t just get to see every day. Animals from all parts of the world. It is a refuge where indigenous and strange wild animals in need can go to lasting residence. In addition, they work with the zoo community to accommodate animals that hinder the functioning of species breeding programs. De Zonnegloed is unique in this regard in Europe.

Sea  Life Blankenberge

Bouillon animal park

Go with your family to discover animals from all over the world! In this zoological park, you will be able to meet the Ardennes fauna but also other species from other countries and continents. A large panel of cattle like bison, yaks, aurochs, water buffalo, etc, are seen strolling joyfully. The primates, magots, macaques, baboons, capuchins, tamarins, and even tigers, bears, vultures, antelopes, wallabies, lynx and many more.

In total no less than 100 different species on a 2 km walking route. After this adventure that will delight young and old, you can loosen up in the brasserie-restaurant while your children will enjoy the play area on the outskirts of the animal park. A place where fun is guaranteed.
