You will be screened by some of the extraordinary things to do and sights you can explore at this unknown destination. You might wish to revisit it someday again, to take a break and relax at Brugelette.

Here is the list of some amazing things to do in Brugelette:

Attre Castle

Address : Avenue du Château 8, 7941 Brugelette

brugellete

Attre Castle is a former castle, now a country house in Attre in the municipality of Brugelette, province of Hainaut, Belgium. The town is very small, the kind that only has one main road and if you are not paying attention, you will be in and out in three minutes. You will love it how in Belgium, even the smallest of towns proposes some of the best-maintained castles. It’s open every Sunday in the summer months and excursions are available every hour from two to five in the afternoon. The back of the chateau has a beautifully manicured garden, just like the front, and a flower patch with a functioning fountain in the interior. On each side of the chateau, there is a detailed topiary. Behind the chateau, there is a seventeen-hectare park. One of the novelties of this garden is the man-made grotto manufactured in pre-Romantic style and used to examine rabbit hunts, back in the day. An odd thing about the chateau is that inside, right next to it, there is an Audi/BMW dealership. So if you are on the market for a new car, you could get it in this fancy setting 🙂

The Museum of the Stone of Maffle

The museum is lodged in the former house of a Quarry Master, Jean-Baptiste Durieux, at the heart of the Brugelette. Isolated since 1960, the location has become a true nature reserve, overrun by vegetation.

From the Middle Ages, bluestone was taken out and worked on in Maffle. This sedimentary rock from the Palaeozoic Era is exceptionally well fitted to construction and sculpture. It was also carbonised in lime kilns and slash to make kerbs or paving stones. The museum recounts the provincial industry but broadens the perspective to take in all the activities about stonework in Belgium and Europe. Tourists exhibit extraction techniques, cutting and carving through machines, tools and visual documents. A complement to the visitors is the projection of films about working with stone or the social conditions of workers. The museum is run by the Friends of the Stone Museum association, which publishes an annual Bulletin, and has also published a range of other documents. This place is so worth a visit.

Pairi Daiza

Previously called the Paradisio, Pairi Daiza is a privately-owned zoo and botanical garden located in the town of Brugelette in Belgium. The most promising zoo in Belgium is Pairi Daiza. Pairi Daiza houses more than 7,000 animals from around the world, comprising birds, mammals, fish and reptiles. It is tracked down on the obsolete site of the Cistercian abbey of Cambron which promotes ancient trees and innumerable historic buildings. Wonderful and extraordinary impressions of elephants, white tigers and mischievous macaques. You will explore the infinite riches of the Indonesian archipelago. As you walk around the zoo you will feel a growing sense of well being and satisfaction that will stay with you long after your visit is over. Cambron-L’Abbaye sets the bar very high – up in the sky with feathered friends! It’s like entering a whole new world – and enchantment is guaranteed here.

The Brasserie

Enjoy beer from Cambron Abbey. The Park Brewery is the reconstructed brewery of the monastery, dating back to 1775. It has constantly been a fantasy to restore Cambron Abbey beer and today we’ve managed it. The beers – blonde, white, brown, and cherry – are produced on the spot, according to the ancestral recipe. The brewing is under the management of the specialists from the Dubuisson brewery in Hainaut, which is renowned worldwide. This place serves both as a production site and a restaurant!

In addition to refreshing your taste buds, Le Jardin des Mondes offers you good Franco-Belgian dishes from €15.50. Immerse yourself in time, with a warm atmosphere and modern decoration.
