Remember Museum
The Remember Museum is by far the most humbling place that you will be visiting while being in the area. It opened its doors on June 12th, 1994. It is housed in a former renovated warehouse and consists largely of the articles vacated by the one hundred and ten American First Infantry Division soldiers who once admired ” R & R ” at the Schmetzs’ farm. The museum opened with loyal yet dramatic phrases of Mathilde and Marcel Schmetz, creators of the project. Marcel’s personal stories of what he experienced during WWII will bring you to tears. The artifacts accommodate confidential items given by several WWII Veterans from various units.
Along with the history related to the articles, you will discern hundreds of ” then and now ” snapshots of youthful men dressed in WWII uniforms and you can also look at their more contemporary photos. Guided tours in French, Dutch, German, English, and Walloon take place every 1st Sunday each month from 9 AM until 6 PM. Except in December, January, and February. Château de Crawhez
