Spa is one of Belgium’s most popular tourist destinations. Spa grew up around a natural source long praised for its supposed healing properties.

The spa is a town in the Ardennes region of eastern Belgium. It is renowned for its natural mineral springs and production of “Spa” mineral water; there was great importance of the resort for the upper crust in the 1700s and 1800s that “Spa” became the generic English term for hydrotherapy. Today it’s mineral-rich thermal waters are exported worldwide.

Thermes de Spa is an incredible place to go-to for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. Spa’s hydrotherapy center a welcoming place for many centuries. Visitor’s “take the waters,” claimed to increase circulation, increase metabolism, and benefit the skin. Located on a hill, which can be reached by car or via the walk by a path that climbs quite dryly, it is a place for the whole family, where the keyword is relaxation. The cylindrical glass building has two round pools, one inside the other outside both at 32 degrees, with “water games and another group jacuzzi. In addition to the thermal baths, the infrastructure offers saunas and steam rooms. The place is full of some panoramic views of the city, sunbeds for reading or sunbathing, or heated lights. Not all the time, do you hit billions, but you can bet high. Pretty looking grand Neoclassical building is named the Redoute. Casino spa is the oldest casino in Europe to the last place Marie Henriette of Austria called “home.” What makes Spa’s unique is its great age, going back to 1763  built in a time where the city of Spa had glamour. There are table games like roulette; Texas hold’em poker and blackjack, as well as slot machines shipped in from Las Vegas in the 2010s. This historical casino is a place where you can line up.

Stunning medieval castle in Belgium. They are built around the XII century. It is roosted on a spur over the right bank of the Hoëgne, a left tributary of the Vesdre. The place was declared “ruin” in the 19th century. To this day, it is a ruin. But the site is impressive, and there is held there every two years a “medieval” festival, which is mainly a party to eat and drink. An extended audio tour about the history of this castle is provided. Little details are correctly described in different languages. Climbing out of Spa on the road to the south you’ll soon arrive at a beautiful estate, couched in the forest. Domain Berinzenne is an incredible landscape,  traced through nature.

The domain offers several routes to discover its hidden beauty. The wooden walkways allow you to overlook nature without damaging it.

From the top of the “watchtowers” you have a beautiful panoramic view it contains a treasure, the same as at the Château de Chambord. The park also consists of a forest museum which is a truly interactive museum, literally built up from the tops of the trees to deep underground. Educational for children, with interactive puzzles. For food and refreshments at an extensive dining room, bright, wood floor, extends in length, slightly arched from where little sound, covered barbecue adjacent is like a cherry on a cake. Overall it’s a beautiful landscape with incredible biodiversity which is always good for a pleasant walk.

December 44 Museum – Battle of the Bulge is a very informative museum

It has an outstandingly large collection of mainly local found relics.

Everything is very detailed and lovingly designed and explained. Most of the exhibits are in very good condition and you get a good idea of ​​how it was then. The museum is full of uniforms, weapons, and war artifacts along with this “small” stuff. Do not expect tanks and howitzers. It has the added bonus of having a Tiger II, the King Tiger, in front of the museum. The tank belonged to Peiper. The biggest thing in this museum is Jeep Willis. The gift shop even includes items you can buy from actual world war 2, 80th airborne was also at this location. If you are in the vicinity you should definitely visit!

Spa is an incredible place that will always make you short of time but it’s worth visiting there to add a  zest in your visit to Belgium.
