Basilique des Saints-Pierre-et-Paul
The Saint-Hubert basilica, an architectural masterpiece, opens its attic to visitors. The Saint-Hubert basilica, listed as an exceptional cultural heritage of Wallonia, is one of the most impressive in Europe. This impressive grey stone church has a netting-draped late-Gothic interior with fine 1733 oak choir stalls topped by cross-headed stags. The stag symbols reflect the legend of St Hubert, the saint whose grave here became a major pilgrimage site from the 9th century.
The colourfully painted former abbey buildings directly north are now used as state archives. In this Basilica, each day is the link in a chain that links the Past and the Future. Its silhouette rises amongst the beautiful green setting of the Ardenne forests. Saint Hubert has been named the “European Capital of Hunting and Nature”. The basilic offers a stunning example of the evolution of architecture Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance. The 18th-century baroque facade is in contrast with its lean, gothic interior bathed in light and colours.

The Fourneau Saint-Michel
The Fourneau Saint-Michel estate, nestled in the Saint Hubert forest, is home to 2 exceptional sites: the Museum of Country Life and the Iron Museum. Some 10km north of St-Hubert towards the attractive Nassogne village, Fourneau St-Michel is a superb open-air museum featuring around 50 historic buildings salvaged from villages around Wallonia and authentically rebuilt in a rural setting of woodland and pasture.
The Museum of Country Life in Wallonia: Step into a 19th-century hamlet, typical of the Walloon countryside. Each sweet little house presents a scene from times past. The Iron Museum: Interactive animations, screenings, touch screens offer an immersive insight into metal casting and how industrialisation changed everyday life. This open-air museum includes 50 traditional local buildings re-erected on a 250-acre site, including a school, a chapel, thatched cottages, tobacco-drying sheds, a public wash-house, farmhouses, artisans’ houses and the following restaurants for visitors. Pierre-Joseph Redouté museum
Pierre-Joseph Redouté Museum is a museum in Saint-Hubert in Belgium.
The Museum cultivates the memory of Pierre-Joseph Redouté, known worldwide for its paintings of roses. The site was built in front of where the artist’s house, demolished during WW2, once stood. The painter was born in 1759 in Saint-Hubert.
Innumerable unusual works, prints and objects are on display. Engravings by Henri-Joseph Redouté, brother of the artist and zoologist painter. You will find other tributes to Redouté in Saint-Hubert: La Fontaine Redouté (Place du Marché)
The rose garden (Avenue of the Ardennes Hunters) gathers 50 different varieties. You will be astonished to see this beautiful and amazing place.
