Hasselback​ Potatoes

Hasselback potatoes-It is a Swedish dish. It was invented by a student in Hasselbacken restaurant in Sweden. It can be served as a main dish or a side dish or a canape.

It was the dish that was prepared during the studies of the student. It became so popular.

It is also very quick. You have to be careful while slicing the Potatoes.

Ingredients :

1.Potatoes – Big and long enough 

2.Olive oil and butter

3.Garlic 

4.Salt 

5.pepper 

6.Herbs – Rosemary 

You can also add Indian spices like Chaat Masala or Garam masala 

How to Make Hasselback Potatoes :

1.Take the potatoes, wash them properly.

2. Hold the potatoes and slice them evenly – thin from the top to down but don’t cut through so it remains attached from the bottom.

3.Take a bowl mix olive oil, butter, garlic, and herbs. Mix it well. 

4. Put the sliced potatoes on the baking tray. Brush potatoes with the mixer of oil, sprinkle rosemary or any herbs of your choice from the top, and put it in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 mins and allow it to cook. 

5. Remove from the oven and brush the potatoes again with an oil mixer. Put them in the oven again and allow them to cook until its crisp enough.  

6. Your hasselback potatoes are ready to serve. You can serve it with your favorite sauce or pesto or anything that you like to eat potato with.

Tips :

You have to be careful while slicing the potatoes .

If you want to make it crispy and brown it needs to be thin and baked twice .
