Falize-Felsen

Rocher De Falize, 4960 Malmedy

Hiking in belgium

The province of Liège is packed with stunning views allowing you to admire the landscape’s skyline for several miles. From “Le Rocher de Falize”, the view over the Warche valley is truly splendid. Around 70 m high and 50 m wide. In Falize, a huge boulder made of quartzite attracts everyone’s attention. At the summit of the hill dominating the left bank of River Warche, the rock overlooks the valley with a sheer drop. It is particularly hard and was able to withstand the force of the erosion and the water with which the Warche dug its way into the valley. A short hike to the “Rocher de Falize” is also worthwhile because of the great panorama. Nice place for some peace, but be careful when you go down the road slope. It is very sharp and you should wear hiking shoes and take walking sticks. You can go down into the forest which will lead you to a riverbank, but it’s quite remote. Yet you can have a nice experience.

These are dry stone walls with elevations made of wattle. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. The starting point of the Tour is accessible with public transport. Unobstructed views of the mountains, impressive height differences and steep slopes are just perfect for your summer walks.
