Butter Biscuits or Makhaniya Biscuits

Butter Biscuits and also known as Makhaniya biscuits very famous among Gujaratis. It is considered the best tea-time snack. we got the recipe from our guest blogger. She also sent us the images from which you will easily get an idea of how to make butter biscuits.

It is very popular among all the age groups. Even among the kids, butter biscuits are very popular. It is very easy but you need to be particular in the quantity. You need to be careful while mixing it also.

Let’s see the recipe .You will need the self-rising flour for butter biscuits .

What is Self- rising flour?

This flour is mainly used for cakes, cookies, biscuits, etc. This is available in the market but it is very easy to make prepare it at home. You can prepare it and store it in an airtight container and then use it whenever you need to bake something like Butter biscuits.

So for 2 cups of self – rising

1. 2 cups plain flour (Maida )

2. 2 1/2 tsp baking powder

3. 1 tsp salt

Method of self-rising flour

Mix all of these in bowl and store it in an air tight container .

Ingredients :

1. 2 Cups Self- rising flour

2. 1 Cup All purpose flour (Maida )

3. 3/4th to 1 cup of cooking oil or Melted Butter (Here we are using oil )

4. 1/2 tsp baking pd

5. 3 tbsp Cumin seeds

6. 1/2 cup yoghurt

7. Milk (as required)

Method

1. Take a deep bowl . Add Both the flours – Self rising and all purpose . Mix them very well .

2. Add Oil in the flour

3. Add all other ingredients into the mix . Mix everything very well .

4. Make the dough with the milk. Use it as much as required. Try to make the dough not so soft and also not too hard.

5. Make small balls of the dough and place it in a plate which can be placed in the preheated oven .

6. Put it in a oven at 400 degrees F for 17 to 20 mins . After 20 mins turn the butter biscuits .

7. Now put it at 200 degrees F for 2 1/2 hours .

8. After removing from the oven break the butter biscuits and check that is it hard enough? Is it crispy? Is it brittle?

9. Let it cool and serve it with Indian Masala Chai .

Tips :

  • Be very careful while kneading the dough.
