   Cycling is the most amazing and loved sport in  Belgium so all the riders here are some of the interesting and amazing facts about riding a bicycle in our very own Belgium. Let us stroke the pedal and band on.

   Riding from the flatlands to the stony areas of the Bruges  and Gent, ambling through the quiet rolling countryside of the Limburg and Brabant regions to the more tougher hilly areas of the Ardenne Forests in the south west where there are some steep hills to climb.

   In the entire Belgium Limburg region is amazingly organised for cycling and the local tourist board address it as  ‘Cycling Paradise Limburg’.

Cycling networks:

Belgium has an extensive network of interesting long-distance cycling routes, which allow you to explore this fascinating country. There are 5 EuroVelo routes which cross this wonderful country: routes 3, 4, 5, 12 and 19, adding up to a total of 1140km. In Wallonia, routes 3, 5 and 19 follow the RAVeL networks for the most part. In Brussels, you will pass the capital’s extraordinary sights.Here you can get an unforgettable cycling experience.

Cycling paths:

The provision of cycle paths very much depends on which region of Belgium you are in. Flanders is a bike lover’s dream with hundreds of well signposted cycling routes. While there are ‘easy’ routes suitable for beginners and families there are also longer ones. Cycling through waters a bridge across one of the lakes dotting the Wijers region of Limburg. The French speaking regions of southern Belgium we found that the cycle paths were not as well implemented and in some case non existent in town.
